Root Rotation X One Plus One: When Melody Weaves Shape
When fashion is more than just clothes and music is more than just sound, the collaboration between Root Rotation and One Plus One opens up a world where the body becomes language, and each short film is a creative manifesto. From Shin’s movements in three states – still, dynamic, inner – to the interweaving of materials, rhythm and light, the project not only tells a story, but redefines the way we perceive art.
Unexpected Interference: When Sound Collides with Seams
In the middle of the crowded and brightly lit city, where the rhythm of modern life beats on every concrete slab, there is a joyful song - not from the voice, but from the sound of fabric touching the wind and drums beating in the chest. That is when fashion and music no longer stand alone, but collide, blend and sublimate. The collaboration between fashion brand Root Rotation and band One Plus One , through the image of Shin - the central performer - is a project that is not just a performance, but a living artistic experiment.
Root Rotation doesn’t just make clothes. They create wearable emotional spaces. Meanwhile, One Plus One – a band that pursues a multi-layered performance mindset – sees sound as a way to evoke connection between people. Shin, in this project, is more than just a performer. She is a symbol of intersection – where melody and form weave a manifesto.
Fashion Short Video: When the Body Becomes the Lens
Short videos are no longer promotional tools – they are works of art, where fashion comes to life through music and movement. The three segments of the video – “Lying Down”, “Dancing” and “Drumming” – redefine fashion storytelling.
Opening: Lying Down Scene
Shin lies motionless in a dark space, wearing a cubic mesh outfit – the square cuts, the metallic grey palette suggestive of an emotional circuitry. The “wires” are used as accessories, blurring the line between body and machine. This is no longer a costume – it is a fragmented emotional surface, waiting to be awakened by music.

Climax: Dance Look
Shin moves powerfully in an electronic crop top design combined with wide pants covered in circuit patterns. The knees are “leaked” – intentionally allowing the body to breathe with each turn and bend. Each dance step is a diffusion of energy – fashion is no longer static, but alive, fiery and daring.

Ending: Drum Scene
In the middle of the rough underground garage, the drums beat – and Shin appeared in an oversized blazer with detailed adjustments: widened shoulders, added buckles, adjusted armholes so that the arms could be spread out with each beat. Below, the stylist chose to keep the upper body turned, so that she could wear simple black pants – prioritizing comfort, true to the spirit of the music: no restraint, no standards, only sincerity.

Behind the Scenes: Art Is a Conversation
The collaboration process didn’t start with a brief—it started with a conversation. Root Rotation’s designers and One Plus One’s artists sat down and shared each frame, each beat. One asked, “If the material were a sound, how would it sound?” The other replied, “If the drums were a cut, how would it break down the structure?”
Shin is the bridge. She is the only one who is present in all three spaces – one body, three states: static – explosive – inner force. Choosing real people, real movements, wearing real clothes – without using models or special effects – is an artistic decision. Because only then can we feel the “flesh” of fashion, the “sweat” of music.
Conclusion: A Creative Manifesto
ROOT ROTATION x ONE PLUS ONE does not create “content”, we create a parallel reality – where viewers not only see, but feel – not only hear, but live together.
This collaboration is more than a video. It’s a vision of the future: where creative industries don’t compete, but resonate. Where a designer can write a song with needle and thread. Where a band can build a collection with melody.
